*Year 6 classroom teacher (PYP)
*Year 4 classroom teacher (PYP)

*NQT Mentor
I have held several roles of responsibility during my five years at this school. A key part of my role as Maths Coordinator for Junior School has been to develop staff's understanding and confidence with this subject. I have achieved this through leading a variety of different workshops about current research, problem solving and the different strategies used for mental and written calculations. I have also supported staff by modelling lessons in their classes and teamteaching areas they find more challenging.
I have also developed a new maths curriculum for the whole of junior school and have trialled, adapted and implemented this curriculum successfully. I have involved the school community in these developments by creating booklets about the different strategies used and holding workshops where parents can experience some of the activities their children engage in at school.
In my role as class teacher I have helped develop units of inquiry which the children find exciting and want to inquire about. These units require the children to extend a variety of skills as well as deepen their knowledge and understanding of a variety of issues, such as cultural identity, peacemakers, leadership and water responsibility.
I also successfully introduced the six week process we currently use for the year 6 exhibition. This involved creating detailed information packs for the children, mentors and parents, devising timelines for the process, and holding information sessions for staff about the purpose and requirements of the exhibition.

As a Year 6 classroom teacher I was involved in supporting the students in their final year of primary school and preparing them for their end of year S.A.T.s. As part of a team working in an inner-city school with many pupils facing a variety of challenges I was able to develop effective behaviour management strategies as well as devise ways to encourage pupils to engage in school life.
In my role as Art Coordinator I also designed and implemented a whole school curriculum and led the teaching of this subject in all Year 5 and 6 classes.
